Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and protect the information you share with us. This describes what the site actually does today - it will be updated as soon as it changes.
Placeholder content
This page is a structural placeholder and has not been reviewed by a solicitor. Replace it with your reviewed policy before the site goes live.
Who we are
This site is operated by Homespace Improvements. [Placeholder: registered company name, company number and registered office address to be added once confirmed - this section is not yet solicitor-reviewed, see the notice above.]
Information you give us
When you use the project finder, a tool, or the contact form, we collect what you enter: your name, phone number, email address, and details about your project - project type, goal, property type, postcode, timeframe, budget and any notes you add. We only use this to respond to your enquiry and to understand your project before we talk to you.
Information collected automatically
This site records first-touch attribution data (which campaign, search term or referring site you arrived from, and the page you landed on) in your browser's sessionStorage, not a cookie - it's cleared automatically when you close the browser tab, and is only sent to us if you submit an enquiry. Your cookie consent choice (accept or reject) is stored in your browser's localStorage so you're not asked again on every visit. See our cookies page for the full detail, including what changes once analytics or advertising tags are connected.
Spam and abuse prevention
To stop automated and abusive submissions, our enquiry form checks for a hidden field only a bot would fill in, measures how long the form took to complete, applies a rate limit based on your IP address, and - only if we've enabled it - uses Cloudflare Turnstile to verify you're not a bot. None of this data is used for any purpose beyond protecting the form.
How we use your information
We use enquiry data to respond to you, discuss your project, and provide a quote if you'd like one. We use attribution data to understand which marketing channels are working, so we can spend our marketing budget sensibly rather than guessing. We do not use your enquiry details for any marketing purpose beyond your own enquiry without a separate, explicit opt-in.
Analytics and advertising
No analytics or advertising cookie runs on this site until you make an explicit choice via the cookie banner, and no analytics or advertising account is currently connected regardless of that choice. If and when one is connected, this policy and the cookies page will be updated to name the specific service and what it does before it goes live.
Who we share your information with
Your enquiry is sent to our internal enquiry system so we can respond to you. [Placeholder: the specific destination - a CRM, an email inbox, or both - will be named here once configured; until then, enquiries that can't be delivered are logged securely rather than shared anywhere.] We do not sell your information to any third party, ever.
How long we keep it
[Placeholder: our actual retention period for enquiry and customer data will be confirmed and stated here. As a general principle, we keep personal data only for as long as necessary to handle your enquiry, deliver any project you go ahead with, and meet our legal and accounting obligations.]
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it if it's wrong, ask us to delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details on our contact page. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information you share with us, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and the spam and abuse protections described above. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take this seriously.
Children
This site and our services are directed at adults arranging building work on their own property. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page whenever what we actually do changes, rather than leave it describing something the site no longer does.
